How Actors Acting Up became a reality

Actors Acting Up (AAU) was conceived by Cory Jacob, an actor who was living in Wisconsin, and very excited
about moving to L.A. As he prepared to move to the "City of Angels", he thought of ways to make his dream as a working actor happen.
He arranged an optimal living arrangement, with thoughts in mind of orchestrating an apartment of cultural diversity, featuring
the hungriest actors he could find, for purposes of growing as much as possible as an actor and human being, as he believed they were
one and the same. He did so.
He then attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, anticipating a challenging environment, flourishing with
dedicated, talented actors. He recieved excellent training, but still had a desire to be around the best of the best. He longed for
a more intense, focused experience. Cory decided that he must unite actors that were extremely dedicated, thereby talented,
in a group to push each other to the limits of their respective talents, with the will to work constantly towards their individual aims.
After his time spent at AADA, Cory began organizing a few of his contemporaries to make films and meet to develop their
personal skills through a series of exercises. Cory, in October 2007, organized a few friends, including co-founder Jeff Vernon, that met the standards of the vision for a productive support
system conducive for growing individual talent and careers in the business: Actors Acting Up was formed officially!
We, for the great benefit of each other, boldly break each other down, telling one another our strengths, weaknesses, and
tendencies in the work, thereby making each individual actor more aware of himself, and thereby, better.
Work Smart. (Be aware and full of purpose.)
Work Always. (Acting is Life. Life is Acting.)
Be A Working Actor. (Be an Actor Acting Up.)

To the Journey!
